Message from Mo
We are having a good year so far. As I write this on my 64th birthday I am well and happy and looking forward to spending the weekend with Kathryn, Rich and Daisy and having a few drinks with friends at the Bat & Ball.
It is now six years since we first heard from Kathryn and our relationship continues to grow and we consider ourselves well blessed. Tez has stopped smoking and we are all very proud of his seven months off the dreaded weed. We now look forward to our summer holiday and our 40th Wedding Anniversary on 4 July.
We had a great Christmas (our seventh spent together!) with Kathryn, Rich and Daisy who came to us for New Year (pics in photo gallery).
Bat & Ball
The beloved pub the Bat & Ball was nearly lost in 2003 when developers tried to buy the site for housing but was saved by the elements in February of that year when seven days and seven nights of torrential rain filled the pub with water from the adjacent Bourne stream. And lo, the developers had second thoughts when the waters rose! Kevin Macready, a proper pub landlord chappie bought it, restored it, built a new embankment for the stream, decorated and refurbished the interior and wow – the Bat is back!
